The time has finally arrived, tomorrow I will begin a 110 mile hike with Leroy Bernard and Jack Masterson. We leave at 5 am tomorrow morning. The good thing about this hike is that we get to split our food weight since we are doing 2 different sections. So we won't be carrying 8 days worth of food at a time, only 4. I'm going to update this blog next Sunday/Monday when the hike is complete. As for now, here's the pack weight that I will be lugging on this journey.
My body weight: 145 lbs
-This is to see how much weight I lose, I usually lose at least 5 lbs from a 3 day trip.
Food Section 1: 5 lbs
Food Section 2: 5 lbs
Pack weight w/ food: 23.4 lbs
Total w/ water: 30 lbs
This hike is going to be challenging to say the least. Gonna set a new record on how many miles I've done in one day. I've also never been on trail for more than 5 days. I'm hoping my past experience will help make this hike as enjoyable as possible. We are looking at 4 days of rain in a row, I'm hoping that changes, but I am prepared for the worse. Hopefully going to end up in Pittsburgh on Sunday where we will enjoy some hospitality and hopefully get a nice visit from my girlfriend, Jenna.
